Is the $119 really a one-time payment?
Yes. You pay $119 once and own Universal indefinitely. Minor updates are free. Major version upgrades are optional at $29.95 — not required to keep using Genlock.
What happens after the seven-day trial?
The trial ends and a Universal purchase is required to continue using Genlock. Your production files remain ordinary files on your disk; Genlock does not upload or take ownership of them.
Does Genlock charge for generator usage?
No. Genlock routes requests to your own Higgsfield, OpenArt, fal, or other provider accounts using your credentials. You pay the provider directly — Genlock takes no markup.
Is the trial feature-limited?
No. The seven-day trial includes the complete product: every workspace, in-app provider sends, MCP Autopilot, custom BONE creation, and exports.
How does license verification work offline?
Keys are Ed25519-signed. Genlock re-verifies your key locally on every boot — no internet connection required. Works air-gapped and in restricted-network studios.
What is MCP Autopilot?
When you configure the mcp execution route in Integrations, Claude Desktop (or Claude Code) can call Genlock’s workspace as an MCP server — driving story edits, prompt assembly, generation, and write-back without manual steps.
Does Genlock store my story data anywhere?
No. All data — scripts, characters, prompts, generated assets — lives as plain files in your workspace folder. There is no Genlock cloud, no upload step, and no telemetry on story content.
Can I switch generators after building a project?
Yes. The BONE system is designed for this. Swap the BONE definition for a shot or scene — the story structure and all its metadata stay untouched. No re-prompting, no lost data.
